You were among the very first subscribers to Planet Waves Weekly. In addition to the fine responses many people have shared about Planet Waves Weekly, I have many things to thank you for.
The first is your vote of confidence. Though Planet Waves was hardly something I was offering "sight unseen," you took the chance that subscribing would be worth it. Your faith and generosity have contributed to a year of good writing and the most positive changes here. "Subscribe" means to "underwrite" and you are truly an underwriter. The changes your generosity and faith have facilitated include hiring a full-time staff person to take care of customer service and many important details of business life. That would be the amazing Chelsea Bottinelli, with whom many of you have spoken.
As a result, I've been able to take better care of myself and do better work. I never expected the weekly essay series to be such a full-on creative stream, and it's been a lot of fun. I also promised my readers that if we could convert the free horoscope into a subscription service, then the PlanetWaves.net web site would only get better, and we've been watching that happen every month. Thank you -- to you, and to the writers and artists who develop and publish their work on Planet Waves. Thanks to you, the site continues to be free of banner ads and outside commercials of any kind.
Once Around the Sun
Amazingly, it's been nearly a year since Planet Waves Weekly began publishing, and it's time to renew. In addition to keeping your annual rate at $49.95 for as long as you're a subscriber, I would like to extend an offer for your friends and loved ones. For an additional $11 each (at the time of your renewal, and if you renew for a full year), you may give one-year gift subscriptions to as many of your friends as you like. At the end of their first year, they will have the ability to renew at the protected charter rate of $49.95, and be eligible for any special offers we pass along only to charter subscribers.

In the Kitchen
What's brewing behind the scenes at the newly-born Planet Waves, Inc.?
One interesting development is a focus on the astrology of children. What's the best way to work with their charts? How can we use astrology as a tool to care for them the most effectively? Included in this project is my ongoing research on the astrology of adoption, which I'll be doing a series on early next year at the latest.
I am continuing to track the upcoming planetary developments carefully, in particular, the approach of Earth and Mars that promises to stir every pot on the stove. I'm also watching the eclipses of autumn closely, the first of which (on Nov. 8) has been called the Harmonic Concordance. I'm continuing to research and apply the newest Centaurs and planets beyond Pluto, including Elatus, Pelion, Varuna, Quaoar and others.
I'm also working with my colleagues on developing a new premium daily astrological service (to be delivered each Monday morning but covering the whole week, day-by-day) that will guide you through the many twists and turns of life about which astrology alone can give advanced notice. This service will feature my writing and my interpretations of the aspects. It's designed for people who want to use astrology as a tool to succeed -- as so many eminently successful people have discovered is possible -- and to help you protect the success you've worked so diligently to create. I'll have more information on that service shortly, and charter subscribers will be sent the initial offer for this service at an introductory rate.
Web-Based & Well Done
Also in the works is web-based delivery of Planet Waves Weekly, to which all subscribers will have access. We will continue to email and solve the various problems that the spam wars have created, but the web is the new home of PWW, which has begun at this web page. Within a couple of weeks we intend to have the password protection in place, as well as the full archive of weekly editions available. There will be an easy-to-find (and use) archive of birthday reports. Once those are up, an indexing process will begin and its results will be made available to you. There will also be reorganized archives of my past horoscopes and writing on astrology, sexuality, relationships, politics and ecological subjects.
Organizing the writing seems like a good idea. One of our subscribers recently wrote in:

I must say that your reports are far more insightful than any I have experienced and so many of the weekly ones really hit directly on target. Thank you for continuing to provide the articles prior to the weekly astrology reports -- I have learned so much from reading these."
Could one hope for a better review?
The 2004 Annual CD is also happening -- which will probably be a double CD offering both sign-by-sign and general interpretations, with an original musical bed. This will be offered at a discount to charter subscribers.
Coming editions of Planet Waves Weekly will continue the current trend toward a solidly astrological focus, made as personal as possible. While I'll never lose sight of the political events of our times and always be mindful of that context, the astrology of Saturn in Cancer, Uranus in Pisces, Mars retrograde in Pisces, the Harmonic Concordance, the monthly feature on a moon sign and other major astral developments will be the focus of Planet Waves Weekly. Expect to learn a LOT about how to apply astrology to your life. Astrology is here for us, a fine gift from antiquity, and to keep it going we merely need to receive it.
In the monthly at PlanetWaves.net, future editions include holistic healing for Virgo, experiments in relationship for Libra and the Harmonic Concordance (and one year till the election) edition for Scorpio.
I'm one of those people who likes to do things well, and I'm very happy when everyone shares in the benefits of that. Every day I hear from my readers how unique my perspective is. I don't really think about it until I'm reminded by someone else. But looking back at the past year of subjects covered by Planet Waves Weekly -- particularly, how astrology has provided a way to bring the rather astonishing social changes of the past year into a truly personal context -- I get the picture. I'm very grateful to be serving you as an astrologer, and to offer the gift of being able to share what is, in reality, so challenging for other writers to put into plain English.
My deeper aim as a writer is to undermine the sense of powerlessness that the mainstream media foists on us. We are, in the eyes of the Fox's and CNNs and MSNs of the world, hapless victims and consumers, ignorant of deeper truths and bigger pictures. We're supposed to not notice that what's being shot with cathode rays into our faces is spiritually bereft. But I am certain that many of us know, know well, and want to do something. My approach to life and to writing is that the more we become aware of, the more power we have to decide. The deeper we can look beneath the surface, the better we can know ourselves. And that, I think, is the true objective of any spiritually-grounded endeavor.
