Note from your astrologer...

(Sun Capricorn, Moon Taurus)

Good evening,

Thanks for clicking on this link. I'm here to share a few afterthoughts with you regarding the Parallel Worlds horoscopes. These are part of a much larger project, as you'll soon discover; we have taken on writing about many of the major issues of our day: political, medical and environmental, in particular, which are directly associated with the current astrology (though the connections are not made in many of the articles).

There are also a diversity of astrological views presented, as well as many primary source materials (charts, two ephemeris downloads and a chart calculation tool). In terms of the astrology, you can pretty much go as far as you want to go from here.

As for the 12 sign interpretations, what you're getting are indeed "Sun sign" horoscopes, kind of like in a newspaper, only as you'll see, I've gone a bit further in the interpretations. I proceeded writing them with the confidence of having your natal chart in front of me, but working only with transiting planets. For reference, yes, I suggest you read your rising sign. If you are reading for your partner or for clues about a relationship, I suggest you read and try on your opposite sign as well as their Sun sign and/or rising sign.

The "newspaper astrology method" sometimes gets grumbles from the Proper Astrology Department. Since nobody can account for how astrology works in the first place, the method used here is not necessarily any better or worse than any other, but it is indeed the one I used. To do so, I've essentially made up stories about your life. I have used the word "you" when I have no way of knowing who you specifically are or what is in your chart; and it's only a literary convention of the horoscope column, and a license given to those who cast divination (which this is), which allow me to do so.

So I'll repeat something mentioned in our Terms of Service, which is that I treat astrology as a form of personally applicable mythical fiction. It's a form of storytelling, coming from a long tradition starting with people making up stories about shapes they saw in the stars of the night sky. If you read something that you don't like, or that you feel does not apply to you, you don't have to take it on board. If you see your own shapes, potential solutions or ideas, those are yours to apply to your life. Astrology is for everyone, and available to everyone.

I view my job as an astrologer to help you work out the aspects and transits to your best advantage and, when possible, the people around you. My job is to see the aspects and not let them bother me, but rather to take them in the sanest and most productive possible light. This is because you and I are going to join in a little co-creation process and pretty much make what you're reading be real, if you agree it's real. To our own minds, we add the energy of the planetary formations (however that works), and whatever spiritual influences we share.

So, on this level, we've left the realm of mythical fiction and we've worked into accessing the power of creation and healing, which works really well when two or more people put their minds together and agree to something. It is for this reason that I feel confident and honest giving the aspects in their most positive expression, and also in assuming that you as a person are striving to be as clear, honest and friendly as you can be. I assume you want good things for yourself, for the people around you, and for the world in which you live.

On a technical point, these horoscopes make continuous reference to houses or solar houses. I don't have the inclination to explain how that system works right now, but any time you see a reference to a house, you can look up its basic meaning in this article.

The charts I've used are all posted in four different formats in the chart resource area. If you're curious about how that resource works, I've included some chart notes.

I have done a fairly though article about how horoscopes are written at this article on Cainer.com. There are others linked from the "book" link on the main homepge.

I'll leave it at that. I hope you have fun and find some clarity on these pages.

Yours and truly,
ERIC FRANCIS

PS, since the publication of Parallel Worlds, I've begun to get a lot more inquiries about whether I do personal readings. I still do -- but very few, and there are currently two waiting lists (list one is closed; list two, 'not guaranteed' status, is still open). Anyone I've worked with in the past does receive priority, per longstanding commitment. I also work with people when they are visiting Paris.

And I am pleased to recommend you to my old friend Natesh, who has become a Vedic astrologer in recent years. I can tell you he's a sincere person who has devoted his life to spiritual growth and service. If you'd like to reach him, you can email gurusgrace@hvi.net.

If you are in Paris visiting and would like to meet for coffee, all factors permitting, I am open to that. Please drop a note to francis@planetwaves.net
