Blast Astrology Conference

Astrology goes on. I'll be presenting at The Blast Astrology Conference, as well as covering the conference for my readers. I'll be driving up from Phoenix to Sedona in about a week. I've chosen my speaking topic, which is why we need the best astrologers writing Sun sign horoscope columns, not as too often happens, something a bit less. Newspaper horoscopes reach more people than any other form of astrology. We are pretty much the ambassadors to the public, and no matter what "proper" astrologers may say about horoscope columns, they do exist, and people do come looking for astrology there.

I'll be encouraging young astrologers to give writing these columns a try, and see what it's like to actually reach people in human terms.

I like the feel of this conference: it's idealistic, they are reaching out to young people (something that few astrologers or astrology organizations are able to do), and they're stopping for half a day in the middle of the four-day event for people to go hiking or just chill out with one another.

If you plan to attend, please drop me an email at dreams@planetwaves.net and copy chelsea@planetwaves.net.

Yours & truly,
Eric Francis

Monthly for Flaunt, March 2007

Aries (March 20–April 19)
When in doubt, ask your mother. You may not like what she says, but her insight will prove to be helpful. In particular, find out how she handled your dad in a situation that is kind of like the one you're facing now. Find out how she handled the psychological stress of not knowing something she needed to know, and how she found out.

Taurus (April 19–May 20)
Ambition is a good thing, sometimes, and a bad thing whenever it involves telling a lie. The time to start not doing that is early; the elements of the situation that may require you to make up a story are in place now, and now is the time to keep your integrity. If you don't, by the time you figure it out, it will be too late.

Gemini (May 20–June 21)
If events of the past few weeks have shaken your confidence, it's all worked toward the result of affirming your faith in yourself. This may seem like a debate between two aspects of who you are, but actually, it's a process of integration. When you make up your mind, you will decide the only thing that's possible is to trust yourself.

Cancer (June 21–July 22)
When the Sun finally crosses the sensitive career angle of your solar chart at the time of the equinox, you will see whether the result of your effort was worth the complications, the effort and the strange adventures. You will have traveled far and wide, only to return to an old place and see it -- and yourself -- in an entirely new way.

Leo (July 22–August 23)
People are coming on strong, and cats, for all their confidence, rarely appreciate that. What you can trust at the moment is that whoever may display the most bravado, the stars are favoring the underdog. Cats and dogs aside, the main thing you need to do is be a person, which means admitting your fears and insisting that others be fair.

Virgo (August 23–September 22)
Your relationships are changing fast and changing unpredictably. Virgo is a mutable sign, which means adaptable, and now you need to put all your flexibility to work for you. At every juncture this month, you will have two options: fight, or negotiate. I don't think you prefer either of these options, but of the two, you're better suited for the second.

Libra (September 22–October 23)
If you don't have the guts to be yourself, you may want to ask why. You seem to be trying to strike a compromise: be a creative person, but make sure your creative power has no impact. That formula is not going to work. Anyway, if you want a formula for happiness and success, you need a better one, and I trust you have one.

Scorpio (October 23–November 22)
You may pile up the reasons you have to feel unsafe, but that doesn't make it true. You may say things that alienate people, but that doesn't make them your enemies. You need to remember at all times how much you depend on your sense of community to actually feel safe, and treat the people around you well for precisely that reason.

Sagittarius (November 22–December 22)
The luck you make is equal to the luck you take. So make people lucky; make sure they benefited that day from running into you. Keep a bag of tricks and give them out when you think it's fully apropos of the moment. The universe is a cosmic boomerang at the moment, so you'll want to throw warm fuzzies if that's what you want to come back.

Capricorn (December 22–January 20)
Lou Reed said you can't always trust your mother. The part you cannot trust is what she said about what your limits are and how long things take. You can't trust what she said about not standing out of the crowd, or not loving yourself too much. You can't trust her career advice. The rest, you can trust. Probably.

Aquarius (January 20–February 19)
If your relationships have seemed a little turbulent the past few months, you are at least starting to figure out why, and see the ways in which you can get above the weather patterns and begin to see the wider world in which you live. Beware of those who live in a small world. They will want you for company, but you have other plans.

Pisces (February 19–March 20)
Artists know that the real art project is life. As you create what you are creating, you make yourself in the process. As you see that any "thing" is made one step at a time, you will notice that your life is made one step at a time, and the stages can be subtle. Usually, the ones with the least glitz are the most solid. Still, keep all your mirrors clean.
