Planet Waves
Weekly Horoscope for Friday, January 19, 2007, #646 - By ERIC FRANCIS

Aries (March 20-April 19)
If you're not at the party, it's not because you weren't invited. You can show up if you want. You may be wondering who you might meet there (or wherever you go), or what you're expecting might be said. You may also be tired of everyone playing doctor, senator and celebrity, or worse yet, big boss, little boss. You need actual intimacy, not social games. It may be that the starting place is in the sanctity of your own mind, in this moment of relative calm. Recent events have given you plenty to think about, and you might want to do just that.

Taurus (April 19-May 20)
Admittedly, you're not quite standing in your dream career, but you're not as far away as you may think. You may feel that there's too much competition, but there's not as much as you may think. Anyway, competition is part of the fun, and in this particular situation, the most talented person is going to do the best. It doesn't always work that way. Two factors count for a lot right now, the first of which is diplomacy. Measure what you say, and proceed with a strategy. Second is imagination, and at the moment, you're at your most brilliant.

Gemini (May 20-June 21)
Though I have not read any sociological studies to this effect, I would guess that those who do well in life are people with a coherent philosophy of existence, and short of that, those who feel they are able to engage others in a reasoning process. In both cases, the operative factors are ideas and the words that express them. If you speak to yourself, to others or to the universe in a reasonable, intelligent way, you increase the likelihood of getting a reasonable and intelligent response. And if you don't get one of those, you know to look somewhere else. You win either way.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You have an abundance of choices of people to do business with, sex partners, and places where your creativity is welcome. I would say there are quite a few people who feel they owe you something and are willing to pay it off. Other people would like to get you involved in something that probably won't work so well. Indeed, there are so many possibilities that I suggest you exercise discretion, if only because you can. In the midst of many indirect offers or ones that may become needlessly complex, there appears to be one direct proposal that is right in front of you. That is the one to consider first, and last.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23)
Your relationship house is stuffed with planets, asteroids, Centaurs and by Friday, the Moon. Then on Saturday, the Sun joins the mob Aquarius. If nothing else, this will keep you extremely busy and remind you that you are indeed the true Leo of them all. But you may want to keep a grip on your time and energy, as well as one eye on who is coming and going from your home. You actually have some serious work to do, and conveniently, you have the motivation to do it. At least I suggest making sure you have your priorities in order, so you know what to do first. When the current scene passes by, the truly meaningful opportunities will still be there.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22)
You are starting to loosen up and get your sense of adventure back, but you may want to ask it where it was. You have just passed through a moment of being dominated by so many fears -- but you may want to consider where they went. And, once you actually reach out to the world from the space of being willing to dare and having something to offer, I suggest you ponder what you ever felt was a viable alternative. Anyway, your confidence is coming from somewhere, and I would propose that it's from the feeling of being authentically alive. Which is another way of saying not scared.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) There are a lot of distractions, possibilities and risks to take; there is plenty you can do that will take you far from where you are now. This occurs just at the time you're getting grounded and have finally found some solid, worthwhile company with which to share your time. If you keep your focus and enjoy the basic things about life that are actually available, you'll find that the many possibilities reduce themselves down to the few that are actually worth choosing from. This will save you the time and energy of a fruitless search, since most of what appears to be available is not what it seems.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Your recent breakthrough on a financial matter now needs to be implemented, slowly and meticulously. Raging inspiration always demands its opposite, which is careful application in the real world. I don't suggest you let any time go by: you might forget your idea. And the astrological conditions are perfect right now (Mars in Capricorn among them) for accomplishing an unusually difficult task, or for doing anything at which you would otherwise feel unlikely to succeed. And, notably, there would appear to be just the professional help you need, readily available. The sooner you start, the sooner you will be done.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22)
If the astonishing run of luck, activity and inspiration the past few weeks has eased off, all that's happened has indeed left you a different person. I would propose you figured out the importance of being grounded and building your dreams on solid foundations. Yet in truth, nothing has left the neighborhood or passed you by. Its form has changed, and in many respects, it's become more accessible to thought (as inspiration sometimes is not). Also, you are starting to ask the important financial questions about the idea, and they do indeed have answers. Remember, if something doesn't have a solution, it's not really a problem.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20)
You're not only starting to figure out just how radical your ideas are; you're giving yourself permission to be exactly the person you need to be. This is not coming from a sense of entitlement, but rather from having no other choice in the matter. There's a difference, even if it's nothing other than subtracting pride from the equation. It's not that you want to be the way you are, and it's not that you need to be that way. Rather, it's plainly that you are that way, which I trust will settle the whole discussion in your mind. Notably, you do make a compelling case for what you know is true, so I suggest you speak softly.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19)
The Sun entering your sign Saturday will clear up one particular question that has been nagging the past few days, which involves how to go about getting what you want. It seems that no matter how intelligent you are, and how intelligent people think you are, it's been challenging convincing people that you know what's right in this particular situation. You are not the thing that needs to change, so I don't suggest you adjust your strategy or try to be more convincing. Someone who matters will simply come around to your point of view. Then, I suggest you proceed like nothing special happened.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
You are vibrating with energy right now, to an extent you probably don't realize. You may be seeing it in the expressions on people's faces or in the feeling that respect is not even something you have to ask for, much less fight for. For now, though, I suggest you keep your agenda to yourself, rather than advertising it. You are used to making a lot of explanations, and at long last you've reached a place and a time where you actually don't owe anyone a longwinded account of why something needs to be a certain way. That includes you. You know the truth, and that is more than adequate.
