Dear Friend and Client:
It's pretty cool doing Jonathan's job for a week while doing my own, but by the time Friday rolls around I'm ready for a month in Bermuda. Once again I thank Jonathan for the privilege of standing in, appearing in five languages, in print on three continents, and on the Net places the likes of People.com and Hola.com. Thank you Dave Nick, my editor at Casa Cainer, who coordinates this whole flea circus, for tying up all the loose ends and making sure that coherent sentences are published.
For Yasmin Boland fans in the audience, watch for her stand-in for Jonathan next week (not this week but the one after), as that book on Cosmic Ordering is still developing and Maestro will be taking another week off.
Finally, here are a couple of housekeeping announcements for Planet Waves subscribers.
Taurus birthday reports for the full month are still on the drawing board. I will have the whole project done fairly soon, with apologies for the delay in revamping the birthday report. It is happening, I've had to make some changes, and I'll be back on track with that soon. I'll include the short version of the current week's report below.
Regarding inquires I've received about Eros, the Supporter-Sustainer area: We are currently working on the user interface of the seven-year horoscope database -- it is close to finished, the last stage of an 18 month project. The chat area is done. That leaves some audio samples to post and the first installment in the Eros "late night writing" area. We will have this all together shortly and will post subscription information to the subscriber homepage shortly. Those super excited about this area can call Chelsea next week at (877) 453-8265 -- she will have pre-ordering information.
I think the Lemonade horoscope is next up for Monday. Catch you then.
Yours truly,
ERIC FRANCIS

Happy Birthday Taurus! (for week beginning May 5)
The arrival of Mercury in your sign so close to your birthday says that you are finding yourself in some unusual and meaningful way. It's as if you've been struggling to find the words for how you feel, what you think and what you want -- and this has been slowing you down. You have not been lacking for ideas, but ideas are not enough. Words are not enough. What you need -- and what you are getting -- is a clear sense of who you are, which will give you the focus and clarity to express that in the world.
Daily Horoscope for Saturday, May 6, 2006
This is the Jonathan Cainer daily horoscope. Jonathan is away this week, and I'll be covering for him through today's edition.
Thought of the Day (from Cainer.com)
If you ask me, this is Beltane weekend. The Sun is within one degree of the Taurus midpoint today, the Moon transits into Virgo (sign of the Goddess) a bit later today, and Venus is now working its way over something called the North Node of the Moon. Remembering the Goddess and her presence as the planet we live on is what this holiday is all about. But it's going to take more than the feminine principle to bring things back into balance. We need to ask ourselves what to do with all the aggression we see in the world and feel within ourselves. We need new ways to solve our problems, and we need to learn the words to express our basic feelings. It's actually not so difficult - we just need to want peace more than we want conflict, and most times, it really is a choice.
ARIES (Mar 21 - Apr 20)
Your relationship to your past is changing. For a long time it seemed like something you had to carry like a backpack, but then, month by month, you learned what parts of history you could leave behind. Today, you have the best possible relationship, keeping the essence of who you've always been without needing to be obsessed by history, but certain gifts do come from the past. Today and for the coming weeks, you can bring a deep and personal talent to the forefront of your life and share it with others. Once you do, you'll realise it's yours to share.
TAURUS (Apr 21 - May 21)
Some things are best left unsaid, but are fully appropriate to do. Why not talk? Often it's a distraction from action. Other times, we need to let our actual movement in the world guide us rather than working from a plan or conscious design. Both apply to you this weekend. There seems to be something important and satisfying you need to do, and I trust you have a feeling for just what it is. But let intuition and your sense of direction guide you. Remember, you don't need to know the outcome, only what your feelings tell you to do next, including how to handle any obstacle that may get in your way.
GEMINI (May 22 – Jun 22)
You're not exactly the stay-at-home type, but this is the weekend to show your face as many places as you can. You could look at the astrology and say that something is waiting for you somewhere, but, in truth, something is waiting for you everywhere you go. In a strange and mysterious way, everyone is your ally; everyone is going to contribute a little something to the cause of your life. You're also likely to make some important friends who, after a time, you may wonder how you could have ever lived without.
CANCER (Jun 23 - Jul 23)
There is something quite remarkable happening in your life on the level of commitment. It's as if all the cells in your body and waves of your aura are starting to hum the same tune. And there's something even better: you're starting to understand who you are and what you need – so clearly that you are aligning with the circumstances that will provide you exactly, precisely that. While there are extremely positive developments brewing for you professionally, the greater reward has something to do with how you relate to people.
LEO (Jul 24 - Aug 23)
It would be a fine idea if you could keep the discussion of certain sensitive points going with partners and loved ones this weekend. I know you're not usually the type who likes to talk about your fears, because you do recognise that negative emotions spread - and if you sit with them a while, they come and go with no real consequences. But over the next few days, you'll be working your way through some potentially confusing territory, at the end of which is an unusual revelation: a moment of clarity; a breath of truth. Keep the discussion gentle. Slowly, delicately, work your way to the centre of the story.
VIRGO (Aug 24 - Sep 23)
If there seems to be an obstacle in your path, you can be sure it's an idea in your mind. I don't want to sound too much like Mr New Age, but if you make an effort to notice where you're not being flexible, or where you're stuck on an opinion, you may discover that adjusting just one little thing gets the whole situation flowing. You'd be wise to think bigger rather than smaller, and to view anyone in a position of authority as a supporter, even if their main function is to send you back to the drawing board a few times. This is how great things are born.
LIBRA (Sep 24 - Oct 23)
On one level, you may feel trapped, as though you lack any choice. You may feel you're the victim of circumstances so much larger than yourself that you could not possibly be accountable for what's happened up till now. Strictly speaking, this is true; you have been guided to your current situation by some unusual forces that do feel like fate or destiny at work. But they have led you somewhere you were not expecting: and that is a place from which you really can go anywhere. I would caution you that this fact may be difficult to see and impossible for anyone to prove. All you can really do is trust.
SCORPIO (Oct 24 - Nov 22)
Forget the little stuff and keep your mind on the big stuff. With the Moon in Virgo most of the weekend, that might not seem like a natural path to follow - but you need to keep your mind on the things that matter most. You really must solve any problem. You can create almost any situation you need. This is to say, you can figure out how to fix your toaster, or how to renovate your career. You can stick to relatively small, petty issues in a relationship - or you can touch something of the meaning of the life you share with someone. The choice is yours.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov 23 - Dec 21)
Moses, despite all his extraordinary wisdom and faith, must have been pretty surprised when the waters of the Red Sea parted for him. Likewise, despite your unusual courage, abundant energy and your attitude that nothing can get in your way, you have something a little extra going for you right now. Something that you knew you always had inside. And that something will surprise you, if you put it to work on only the most meaningful subjects in your life. I can pretty much assure you that does not include your career. Your creative life, and emotional connections – perhaps; career, probably not.
CAPRICORN (Dec 22 - Jan 20)
Let's not split hairs. There's no time for that, and your life is going too well to get bogged down in your anxieties or the minor points. Stick to the larger principles that are at stake, and be generous if that ever shows the promise of solving a problem or moving the situation along. Direct all your energy at making constructive gains, because in so doing, that's the pattern you're going to weave into the tapestry of your life, and of the people close to you. There are some who say you cannot escape fate. I say you cannot escape faith. You have to have faith in something, and right now, it's easier than it's ever been.
AQUARIUS (Jan 21 - Feb 19)
You may have one idea about how you feel, and you may sense that it's not going to wash with somebody else. You know, intellectually, that your feelings are your feelings and nobody can change them, or in truth, change you. Except, of course, for you. The question is, why would anyone want to change you mind? And in the scheme of things, are you putting a certain priority you have involving your security or emotional stability above some other vital factor? I'm not suggesting you change your mind. I'm only asking if you feel that your priorities really are in order. If they're not, you can always change them.
PISCES (Feb 20 - Mar 20)
Truly unusual astrology is developing this weekend, which seems to be pointing the way to the future. In particular, it involves a grand water trine linking Jupiter with Mars and Uranus. Astrologer-filmmaker Antero Alli, speaking through one of his characters, summed it up eloquently in his digital film Tragos, set in the year 2012. 'Fate is what happens to everybody; nobody escapes it. Fate is unknown until it happens. Nobody controls fate. Destiny, now that's a different story. Destiny is yours to create. Fate is in the cards. Destiny is how you play them.' You're holding some good cards right now. Play them well.
