Daily Horoscope for Wednesday, May 3, 2006

This is the Jonathan Cainer daily horoscope. Jonathan is away this week, and I'll be covering for him through Saturday's edition.

THERE are The miracle of the world coming back to life after a long, dangerous winter was not lost on our predecessors. In the Old Religion, the temple was not a building, but rather a space that was part of the Earth. If you ever thought Westminster Abbey or Notre Dame was old, imagine Avebury Henge, in Wiltshire. You can feel something of the age of the Earth in this spot, and the sheep grazing are a little reminder that the Earth is what sustains our lives. Male and female were honoured equally, which today would seem like a LOT more emphasis on the feminine principle than we've ever experienced. Today when we think of the Earth we tend to think in strange political and economic concepts like 'environmentalism'. But what about loving our planet and how she holds us up, gives us food to eat, water to drink, and air to breathe?

ARIES (Mar 21 - Apr 20)
Venus arrives in your sign today, with the message that you've succeeded at several things most people find unusually challenging. One is that you've made peace with your past. Rather than letting it go or denying it, you've embraced your history as part of yourself. In so doing, you have found a measure of inner completion that will allow you to seek relationships not because you fill a gap, but rather to experience and offer yourself as a complete individual. This has its own challenges. The choice to live each moment as a new experience becomes much more important than what you may have felt yesterday.

TAURUS (Apr 21 - May 21)
When in doubt, stick to what you know you need to do. You seem to be hearing a call to achieve great things and to expand your mission in life - and at the same time I would guess you feel trapped within your circumstances or ideas. If you're being held back by anything, it's a notion of yourself that puts security before passion. Accountability always seems to come before freedom. Commitment to partners almost always outweighs commitment to yourself. So, I suggest you stick to your most basic needs. Give them names, and don't wait for an excuse to take action.

GEMINI (May 22 – Jun 22)
Everything starts with an idea. Once you realise that, it seems like common sense that an idea can change your life, or change the world. Today is one of those blessed days in your life, when you have an opening into another level of reality. What has long seemed impossible or beyond your ability to grasp has an easy quality to it. The delay between thought and action, or between making a request and having it granted, has been reduced to nearly no time at all. All you need to do is be clear with yourself - and listen for the answer to your prayers.

CANCER (Jun 23 - Jul 23)
This may work out to be one of the most significant weeks in your professional life, and if you keep your expectations reasonable, they will be far exceeded. A combination of factors is at work, each of them fairly ordinary, but together adding up to something truly unusual. Therefore, reach for what you want. Gone is the struggle between being who you really are, and being appreciated for precisely that by those who are in a position to help you. The whole 'approval factor' has been replaced by an appreciation for your excellence, and the truly reassuring factor of your clear-headed confidence.

LEO (Jul 24 - Aug 23)
You have been thinking in the long-term, but you've been doing it slowly. Then, after attempting many strides forward, every now and then the future takes a leap closer to you. The tree branch reaches down to offer you some fruit. Your aspirations, dreams and deepest desires seem all the more attainable. This is happening now, a fact emphasised by Venus arriving in your fellow fire sign Aries. Fulfilment, however, will come with its own challenges - but as you live each day I trust that you'll see, feel and respect the meaning of your quest.

VIRGO (Aug 24 - Sep 23)
You are finally in a position to reach the delicate compromise that you've been wanting to create with someone. I strongly suggest, however, that you do not push anything forward, but rather gently move yourself into position to create the outcome you want. Quietly assume things are going to work out. Live as if the other person already sees your point of view, and finds it acceptable. To ensure that the equation is balanced, listen carefully for clues about their position, their needs and their sense of how they perceive you. Be ready to offer something; be ready to receive. And then be patient.

LIBRA (Sep 24 - Oct 23)
Is it a miracle when you see yourself in another? Actually, it's a pretty good one, because if the world is suffering from one illusion, it's the idea that people are separate, that we need different things, and have conflicting ideas about life. Remember that what happens today and for the next few days is just pointing to the potential for something much greater. Remember that understanding yourself and understanding another share a very close relationship. It is not really possible to succeed at one without succeeding at the other. But doing both is half as difficult, and twice as easy.

SCORPIO (Oct 24 - Nov 22)
Events over the next few days may give you the feeling that you've been living a less than authentic life. Astrology offers a translation of this feeling. What you're more likely to have been doing is living with an unconscious allegiance to someone or something in the past. It's a kind of a lie to exist anywhere but the present moment, because the past is, in total, a fantasy or dream. Someone in your life is trying to show you, with calm determination, how to live for who you are now, and who is with you right now. Yesterday is a ripple in a pond. Today is the light that's shining in your eyes.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov 23 - Dec 21)
You're usually the person who knows your own mind the very best, and, unlike most people, you're aware of this fact. But over the next day or two, you will find people around you saying surprisingly intuitive things that fill in the blanks on various little puzzles you're putting together. You may notice that people can finish your sentences - differently than you intended, but with a better conclusion. In any event, keep your ears perked, make casual inquiries and pay particular attention to what kids think. You may observe they really do know everything.

CAPRICORN (Dec 22 - Jan 20)
It looks like someone in your life is more than willing to sacrifice one of their own goals or needs for one of yours. The key word is willing - and I suggest you trust their sense of what is right for them even if you can see both sides of the story. You will have your chance to repay the favour, even though this is not required. In many respects, life is a political exercise, and I suggest you make every effort to notice the rules people play by, what they consider fair and unfair, and more than anything, just how compelling you and your ideas are right now.

AQUARIUS (Jan 21 - Feb 19)
You're an idea person. You know it and everyone else knows it. You not only have the gift of solving problems, you're blessed with a measure of true originality. Most of the best ideas are never used. We could solve any problem the world faced, if people would be more disciplined about developing their concepts. Then, there's the last factor: having the courage to say something, the awareness to bring them to the community, or to show them to someone in a position of authority who can help make them happen. I strongly suggest where one particular idea is concerned, you start this soon, and stop at nothing.

PISCES (Feb 20 - Mar 20)
It's true that there are plenty of barriers in life. But at the moment, there's no wall you cannot climb over or walk around; no door to which you do not have the key; and most vital of all, nothing you need to do that you lack the resources to accomplish. This is a truly unusual time for Pisces, because you have access to not only the dreams and ideals that your sign is famous for, but also the business smartness and extreme focus for which it is somewhat lesser known. Strive and you shall achieve. Seek co-operation, and you shall find it. Stay positive and very good things will manifest.
