Today, April 4, would be Aunt Josie's 102nd birthday.
About those Planet Waves T-shirts. They're 100% cotton reproductions of the artwork used in the sign-by-sign horoscopes in Parallel Worlds, the 2006 annual edition of Planet Waves. They come in regular guy style as well as tank top and babydoll. The best online reproductions of the illustrations are on the individual sign pages. So if you're curious about what they look like sort of large, check your annual horoscope. Then of course I get the occasional email from someone who has [still] never heard of Parallel Worlds, which is a special content area covering all of 2006 in astrology, news and other adventures. If you've lost your password (which is now the same as for Planet Waves Weekly and the Lemonade area), please write to us. The T-shirt store is here:

Aries Part Two: Plutonian Adventure
ABOUT your cousin Bill. As I was saying: he knows something you don't. His policy of avoidance of what most people would call success is exactly what this world could use a little more of. I think this easing off on the success throttle may be one of the prevailing themes of the Aries total solar eclipse.
With your solar return Mercury (one of the esoteric rulers of Aries) still in Pisces, recently having been rather retrograde, you're especially inclined toward a worldview that is an inner view, and the feeling tone of your life may become considerably mellower as a result.
I say this recognizing how much 'push' energy it takes to make it through the day, that is, the average day, not even an average wild week. But then there are the people who know how to cruise, and those who ease back and (for example) play music. There are actually people who manage to ease into life even recognizing the enormous responsibilities that are heaped on everyone, and how intertwined our lives have become with society.
It's true that today's toll booth is endowed with the technological power of yesterday's air traffic control center, and that in line with this, to manage a household today is comparable to running a good sized company 25 years ago.
This is true even without the greed factor that we're all constantly pushed toward. Not that you're so into 'more' for its own sake. Considering the astrological mandala, I would propose that Aries prefers to have and enjoy things more than it prefers to get them. If more people would take that attitude, it would slow the process of Western-styled consumerism down if anything would. It's just that we have to be so competitive to get anything done on the planet. And this sense of competition, and the mental stress associated with it, may be at a height with Mars in Gemini about to oppose Pluto in Sagittarius.
Other expressions are likely: this is a 'critical point' kind of aspect, representative of something reaching its peak. There is the potential for a confrontation with something Plutonian -- something intense and transformative that feels inevitable. Mars is still moving slowly after its long retrograde experience in Taurus, and this aspect is loud and clear in the solar return charts of all Arians.
Something is being pushed to a peak of energy: a way of life, a way of thinking, a relationship to your environment. There seems to be something decisive in this aspect; a declaration of your personal reality, even in the very moment you change your mind about something, have some vast and sweeping realization, or let go of an old struggle that was in its essence psychological.
Gemini has a strong relationship to childhood, particularly in the chart of an Aries. May I recommend a little psychological exercise? I am not a psychologist, but I think I can prescribe this without much fuss. Start making a list of all the influences when you were a kid that divided your mind in two. That is, divided your will, your desire, your identity, your mental process.
Let's see, stuff like divorced parents and having two lives at once; having talent in two distinct areas, and somebody deciding that this was not possible in one child; being able to see two entirely different sides of an issue and nobody mentioning that this is actually a talent; unusual competition with siblings; these kind of things. Perhaps some that are a bit more traumatic that served to basically give you two identities.
Then, imagine that in some odd way, the division propagated into adulthood, and that certain times, particularly under stress, it acts up and can be rather confusing.
Now, imagine what it would feel like to get over that little hitch; what such a miracle might feel like; for instance, being of one clear mind about what you want. The miracle of unity of your own mind. Then imagine this thing you desire with all your heart is something you already have, and merely need to embrace. Would that be cool? This is how your cousin Bill talks. The guys think he's a little weird and all their girlfriends find him immensely entertaining, but the guy plays a mean bass so his friends put up with all the psycho-spiritual philosophizing.
Astrologically, there's another way to look at this, which is summing up what it means to have the North Node transiting your sign. This has been true for about a year and a half, going back to late 2004. The eclipse last week was involved. Where there is an eclipse there is a lunar node, and in this particular case, the North Node. This is an anchor point of 'what we must do in this lifetime'. But under its influence, neither fate nor destiny are made simple. Generally, the North Node is the kind of future probability you have to earn.
At its most basic, the North Node is the point where we are pioneers within our own lives. Also called Rahu or the Dragon's Head, when the node is visiting our sign, we can feel the compulsion to reach, explore or even push into a certain direction -- in this case, the one you most intimately associate with yourself. This is not entirely inward; the node depicts a way of being in the world, and it can be an ongoing challenge not exactly to get anywhere, but to be in harmony with who you are.
Most people are called by the node; then avoid it; then are called back; then know what they must do; then slowly do it. Then they feel that indescribable awareness.
Then, there are those moments when you just get it. It's a different world when you do, but I know it's possible because I've felt it myself for a moment here and there, once or twice.
