Dear Friend and Client:
We apologize for the multiple mailings of the Lemonade horoscope this week. I like that column, but not enough to send it out four times.
This was a typical phenomenon of the 'old list'. We have done considerable work to replace it with this new one, which we maintain ourselves and will now use exclusively. Thank you Tracy (inventor of the Faerie, which handles all Planet Waves Weekly content), as well as Anatoly, Chelsea and our Beta Test Team for getting this cool little system up and going.
We have done our best to reach all readers requiring text-only format, such as Blackberry users, who are now on a special list. We appreciate your patience and cooperation, and please contact us if you need any assistance.
The Parallel Worlds series in the cover blog continues Thursday.
Natesh Reed and Deirdre Tanton, two people I love and trust, are now available for private astrological consultations.

Aquarius Birthdays: Resources, Priorities, Ideas
PLENTY has changed in a week, and plenty will change in a year. You seem to have begun what will be a four-plus season process of reassessing everything, but finally, not from a position of lack or fear, but rather from wanting to live wisely and well. This reassessment continues, but now is a time of consolidating your gains and resources, and getting clear with your ideas about life.
It may seem as if this little angel in your private cosmos has been guiding you to do exactly what you need to conserve your resources. But really, you are waking up to the necessities and realities of the material plane, and adjusting your choices accordingly. Now comes the process of maximizing, striving for efficiency and . This is a definite sign of maturity. What you may wrestle with is the notion that changing your mind is somehow not a sign of maturity -- but developing anything at all requires making a series of decisions and a decision is another way of saying "changing your mind." Or making it up. Whatever, it amounts to the same thing.
Be thankful that you have a mind to do either with. Indeed, be aware that you have one. This bit of missing information -- that we all have an original mind, that can think original thoughts -- is the bane of civilization. But you, personally, do know even if you're reminded that you have your own ideas about life by the constant tension between you and those we could politely describe as anaesthetized. You know because people depend on you for your ideas and your point of view. You know because you can feel the wheels turning.
And you really know in those excellent moments when you don't give a damn what anybody else thinks.
In any case, many of the decisions you'll be making this year, relatively speaking, are actually the small ones. You've already made the big ones: the ones based on the deep, underlying developments in your life. You have set the agenda, in the sense of the big picture. Now come matters of implementation, and of working with the environment in the most productive possible way.
The big peak, the new experience, comes in late August; at that point, you basically get to sum up the grand total of your changes and decisions and ideas and do something pretty monumental. At this point, the main assessment you will make is between the vision for what you are creating, and what you have actually created. This is merely a checkpoint -- you have more time and many more opportunities to develop what you are doing.
Now, I don't mean to imply you are an island, isolated from the needs and feelings of others. To the contrary -- you are capable of being an ideal citizen if anybody is. And for sure, your environment is a factor, and you need to keep it in mind constantly. The most prominent thing in our environment is people. However, physical space and location also count for something.
But the mental environment is, overall, the thing they both have in common, and have in common with you. You need to watch this carefully. The mental environment is slippery. There is some question as to whether it actually exists.
The person who discovered it is a Canadian guy I like to quote, who influenced me profoundly, named Marshall McLuhan. He cautioned that the environment is invisible. Therefore it tends to operate below awareness, and we take it for granted. Notice the results on a global scale.
Your job is to make your environment visible; to see what everyone else misses; to watch your thoughts carefully, and note the way your own state of mind can shape the environment -- and the ways in which it cannot. You need to know the difference, and not make any assumptions here. Indeed, to challenge assumptions, you're going to need to experiment, and to depend carefully on what you learn from these endeavors.
Your job is to also BE visible. The interesting Mars retrograde that stretched through the second half of 2005 and is really just wrapping up was a big call to visibility and having a clear and undisputed place in the world.
Specifically, the interchange between you and key individuals in your life, between you and the prevailing beliefs of society, between other people and your beliefs, are more significant factor than perhaps ever before. All the factors that represent input -- media in all forms, your surroundings, your friends -- are experiences that you will have the choice to assimilate into your reality in an unusually conscious and complete way. Whether these factors initially tend to work on a direct and conscious level, or whether they are soft and subtle, the main factor you can bring to the equation is awareness.
I often use this word to describe the action of Chiron, which is now a prominent factor in your life story. It's the simplest way to bring across a complex idea, which embraces everything from your right to exist to your urgent need for personal reinvention. Awareness is the activating agent in all conscious change. And it is the most useful response when we experience enforced change, as is so often the case in life.
This 'right to exist' factor, first documented by Melanie Reinhart, is potent when Chiron is in one's sign or transiting the ascendant, or any of the angles. There is nobody who lives in this world who does not encounter this kind of crisis from time to time, but what most people don't know is how productive it can be. It is true, as my Aunt Josie often reminded me, that Rome was not built in a day. (Funny, I was the Pisces in that pairing and she was the Aries, and she was giving me the ongoing reminders of patience.) However, there will be several points at which your progress will come in a single leap or stroke of brilliance that will shorten the distance between what you need to do and getting it done. And some of those hops are going to come sooner rather than later, so keep your notebook in your pocket and make your moves while the movin' is good.
For many reasons, you have a measure of permission to transcend natural law, at lest the laws of the mind, and on Earth they count for quite a lot. The shortest distance between any two points in time and space is an idea.
Respect your ideas. Develop them. They will work.
