Revolution of the Willing

Mercury continues to fly upstream in Sagittarius -- the mind propelling itself into the fiery onrush of the soul, as if spawning. Or, if you prefer, it's the feeling of a mosquito taking a soaring ride perched on a flaming arrow, making encounters with Pluto, the Galactic Core, the Great Attractor and Quaoar (for more about Quaoar, please see my current column at http://Cainer.com). Intense, yes? We're going through a fire sign and the Sun is aligned with all the most prodigious galactic points, some high-voltage planets and a few respectable asteroids.

In fact, the Sun has just met up with Achilles (exact this past Tuesday, a point associated with false confidence and false lack of confidence) and conjoins Arachne (exact Saturday and Sunday, associated with things of a conspiratorial nature, networks, all things woven, stories, grandmothers and the Crone). Mercury meets both of these minor planets three times in the current retrograde cycle as well.

And we are heading into a potent New Moon conjunct Pluto and Arachne on the Sunday 12th, which is certain to stir the Sagittarian pot even more, and bring some more of the connections to light. Perhaps the larger global story woven into the tapestry will begin to be visible to our eyes.

Among the facts of life finding their way into my inbox this week was the revelation that the 1,000th United States soldier was killed in action in Iraq, on Tuesday. I happened to know this was shortly before the Mercury-Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius (the second of three, and the only one with Mercury backing up into Pluto), a fitting aspect for such news, even a bit ominous.

Mercury says 'news', Sagittarius says 'world news' or news from afar; the retrograde is a hint that things are not, perhaps, going according to [the obvious] plan. It's also a moment to look back at the past. Mercury in Sagittarius is not necessarily focused in its vision, but with Pluto involved, we have a moment of clarity in the fog of war.

If we need astrology to remind us of these things, that's okay; sometimes it helps to look at a diagram if you want to fit the pieces of the new barbecue together. And sometimes it's wise to ask a little kid for guidance.

The question is: how long can we see the picture before going into denial? And: why pay attention at all? Once the question gets to that level, we are in territory that can truly be called 'spiritual', if that word is vaguely meaningful.

If we're talking spiritual, we could also be inquiring about the karmic effects of this situation. Karma is the law under which every action we take has consequences; it is the law of cause and effect. Simply, actions set consequences into motion. We often experience the effects of our creations. What is a creation? Something we do; but the lack of action, or lack of awareness where we should have it, count. There is an Arab parable wherein those karma-creating gestures can be as meager as throwing date pits around after you've eaten the fruit. I am certain that there is a large segment of the U.S. population, well versed in the holy books, well practiced in yoga, trained in healing, or sufficiently in touch with reality, that understands this equation.

There's another law, said to be a higher law, called the Law of Grace, which can transcend karma. Grace is to karma what quantum physics is to Newtonian physics. It is a higher order of reality. In much the same way, most people refused to accept its implications. My understanding of the Law of Grace is that it's not about denial as we think of it, but rather about awareness, honest acknowledgement and asking for intervention. In Christian terms, you can receive the grace of God's forgiveness once you acknowledge your sins. The verbs are 'acknowledge' and 'receive'.

Anyone can do this, but someone has to actually make the request. Often it is not so easy, and much of what can stand in the way is the unwillingness of people to be relieved of their burdens, the belief that it's not possible, or faith in their own unworthiness, which is powerful. So healing, the asking and receiving have to work on those levels too. (I am also aware that the Catholics make the matter even more complicated by requiring that an ordained priest be involved in absolution, but I have not found this to be necessary. Mother Theresa and my Aunt Josie were not ordained.)

In less orthodox terms, it does often take a healer to assist in the process of healing. Yet most healers will tell you that what they do is love unconditionally within the healing process, and ask for the help of the Holy Spirit. Most would agree that the receiving of healing must be a conscious act by a person willingly seeking it.

Let's see if we can get anywhere with these ideas looking at a world horoscope.

The Pentagon, in what was described as a "characteristically brief statement," said that the incident in which the 1,000th soldier was killed in action occurred at around 11:30 Tuesday morning in Baghdad. The soldier's name was not released, pending notification of his family. They are not supposed to hear of it on the news first.

Now, a brief clarification. The death toll of U.S. troops stood at 1,275 with Tuesday's incident. The additional 275 soldiers have died in accidents, by suicide, or in other incidents not technically classified as killed in action. A number of private contractors -- paid mercenaries who comprise the second highest population in the Coalition of the Willing -- have lost their lives as well. A number of journalists and aid workers have been killed. So too have a number of troops from the UK and other countries involved in the project. CNN.com reports: "74 Britons, seven Bulgarians, one Dane, two Dutch, two Estonians, one Hungarian, 19 Italians, one Latvian, 13 Poles, one Salvadoran, three Slovaks, 11 Spaniards, two Thai and nine Ukrainians [have been lost] in the war in Iraq as of December 8, 2004," for a total of 1,428 military personnel killed in this war.

About 98% of U.S. deaths are among men.

We are being told that a total of 9,765 U.S. troops have been wounded, though this number does not include everyone whose hearing has been damaged by bomb blasts, the tens of thousands exposed to radioactivity from depleted uranium shells (perhaps everyone who has served a tour of duty in Iraq), and the many thousands of troops who will suffer psychological and emotional illness, such as post-traumatic stress. For everyone still suffering from some measure of post-traumatic stress as a result of their parents fighting when they were little, consider the depth of what can be inflicted in a combat situation you're left in three times longer than Army regulations call for, constantly fearing for your life. There is also the separate issue of Gulf War syndrome, which may or may not be related to depleted uranium.

No official counts of Iraqi deaths are available, but we all know the toll is high. I have read repeatedly that the Pentagon is counting carefully, but not releasing the information. The number going around is 5,000 military personnel. That sounds low; the fire power between the two sides is so skewed, a proportion of 1:5 seems off. By some estimates, up to 100,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed, though this figure does not necessarily include all those dying of diseases related to loss of fresh water and medical facilities, or people dying of malnutrition and starvation in the many regions where relief cannot get to the people. And it does not include injuries, many of them severe, and many of them to small children.

Given all this, to bestow any special significance on the 1,000th lost American soldier based on a technical definition of 'killed in action' seems to be stretching things a bit. But had the Pentagon not released the time of the incident, it never would have occurred to me to cast the chart, so they get part of the credit. And it made the news, which grants a measure of significance. Then, when I looked at the chart, it had that distinct characteristic that some horary charts have, called radicality. The chart fit the picture and started talking, and at such times, it's best to listen, lest the muse of astrology think you're not taking the work seriously.

Here is the chart:

http://planetwaves.net/astrology/1000kia.html

There is a lot happening in a very short interval. The quick once over: late Aquarius is rising. The Moon is in Libra. Excluding minor planets, which I prefer to leave out of horary (in this case, an event chart), it has made no major aspects since entering Libra the previous day despite having moved 12 degrees (an odd condition, which I just confirmed against Raphael's Ephemeris). It is not 'carrying the light' of any other planet. Thus, it's about to make its first aspect: Moon trine Neptune in Aquarius (which translates to 'people will believe anything'). It then makes a rapid sequence of aspects during the next few hours, continuing with an occultation to Jupiter (an exact conjunction where the Moon covered Jupiter, visible many places in the world), followed by a series of sextiles to the Sun and planets in Sagittarius.

The lord of the Aquarius ascendant is Saturn (using old rules for horary).

The problem with the chart is the late-degree ascendant. It is on the edge; on the brink of something. Horary rules say you can't judge such a chart, so we had better consider it speculative. Note that this uncertainty is itself part of the situation. And the last phases are often truly challenging, even representing -- but they are, as a result, opportunities to do much productive work.

Kirsti Melto in Finland wrote to me a few minutes ago about a discussion unfolding on the Finnish astrology list. She said, "Raimo A. Nikula described how there is always a paradox involved in last degrees: they can be not only 'punishing', but also be spiritually very rewarding, because the individual has in his possession the whole extension of the sign. He said that you can't tell whether it's going to be punishing or rewarding only by looking at the chart. The last phases carry the possibility to purify the soul so that new life experience is possible, but first you may have to face those things which rise from the unconscious. He said that he has noticed that it's not the last degree which is the most difficult one, but he thinks it's the degree just before, the 28+ degree."

This is one of the most original, clear and helpful discussions of the late degrees I've ever read.

Okay, so there is clearly a story in the chart; there are issues to take to the jury of astrology.

To begin the game, there is a prominent conjunction about to occur in the 8th house, the house that describes the nature of death. This being a death chart, that's pretty important. The conjunction is the next big thing that occurs -- that is, right after the Moon trines Neptune in the 12th house -- so this soldier's death seems to be triggering something. It does so with the help of that rather interesting, tucked-away-in-the-12th Neptune.

The occultation is in Libra; the Moon is at 12+ degrees and Jupiter is at 14+ degrees. This is no ordinary conjunction, but rather a rare exact occultation of Jupiter by the Moon, something that will typically only happen a few times in a year. The cosmos are speaking with emphasis. To me, this occultation in the 8th house is the main affirmation for radicality, or relevance, of the chart.

There is also an eerie reference to the Sept. 11 chart: the Moon occults Jupiter in the very precise degree that was rising at the time Flight 11 hit the World Trade Center. There is a direct reference to the point of origin of the war, even though we know that Iraq and Sept. 11 have nothing to do with one another -- many people associate them.

When we look at the ruler of Libra, we make a discovery. It is conjunct Mars in Scorpio in the 9th house. This is another potentially violent image, or crime scene. Mars rules the 2nd house -- money. The motive for the killing is money. Mars appears in the 9th, far away from home, the image of an invader who is plundering a foreign country. The extent to which money is an issue in this war is basically being totally ignored. It involves oil, and it involves who is getting the hundreds of billions of dollars that are being spent on this project. Somebody is getting the money. Do we need to name names? We know them already.

Next case. Jupiter, which experiences the occultation by the Moon, is the ruling planet of Sagittarius. So we can look to Sagittarius and infer what, exactly, is being occulted. Interestingly, Sagittarius is on the 10th house cusp, what William Lilly describes the house ruling questions of "government, office, dignity, preferment, or any place of command or trust." This house is on top of the chart. The Sun in this house is the most elevated planet; it is the noontide. The Sun is very strong in this condition. Sagittarius is a fire sign, Sol is 'accidentally dignified' by being so high up, and it's making some strong aspects. We might think that because of this, those in government, presumably the U.S. government, are safe and secure.

However, it would appear that the Sun actually represents the Iraqi insurgency. To find this out, we need to look for the house the Sun rules, that is, the house where Leo is placed: this is the 7th, the house of open enemies. So the Sun represents the 'enemy' and we have additional confirmation of that because it's in Sagittarius -- a foreign entity.

The United States is represented by the ruler of the ascendant; late Aquarius is rising, and as mentioned, this late degree rising is quite unstable, unpredictable, or be involved with a test. Fittingly, Aquarius us one of the signs most often associated with the United States anyway. Next we look to Saturn, ruler of Aquarius. Saturn is in very sad shape in this chart. It is in Cancer, the sign of its detriment, meaning that it's weakened. And it's retrograde, signifying more weakness; and it is in the 6th house, suggestive of sickness. Saturn does not generally do well in water signs. Saturn in such a position is classically held to be 'bad for the Army' -- Saturn is the Army's planet. So, the picture is coming into focus; we have a vivid image of the Army and the U.S. government bogged down in the quagmire of that seriously debilitated Saturn.

There is no mission; no forward movement; the 6th can seriously delay matters. The CIA report that was leaked this week -- stating how dismal the situation is -- as well as testimony from a former soldier that unarmed Iraqi civilians are routinely shot by American troops -- adds to the sense of anarchy and disarray. This is no way to run a war, whether you love war or hate it, and a lot of news came out this week, coincidental with this incident.

The enemy, on the other hand, is at the top of his game; particularly in a 'holy war', absurd as that term is. Whoever is represented by the Sagittarius Sun high in the chart, in a fire sign, is going to be the easy bet as the winner. (The Sun is also on the Great Attractor, a condition which creates a high degree of polarization about the subject in question; that is, some people really really like whoever this is, and some people genuinely despise whoever it is. The other thing the Great Attractor does is spread the influence of a planet far beyond what anyone suspects is possible.)

Saturn in Cancer is represented by the Moon, which is occulting Jupiter in the 8th. A United States soldier has been shot, but looks as if he's been shot by 'friendly fire' -- or as a result of being in a very sick situation -- because the Moon's action is a direct result of the American government or military, Saturn in Cancer. This is because the Moon rules Cancer, and thus rules Saturn in Cancer. Their actions are connected. (This was, officially, not listed as a friendly fire incident by the way -- it was described as a 'light artillery' assault by the Iraqi defenders or insurgency.)

The two chart rulers (Saturn, the 1st ruler, and Sun, the 7th ruler) make no aspects to one another; they have no real relationship. They meet by proxy, by way of their ruling planets! It's as if Jupiter is the proxy for the open enemy, and the Moon is the proxy for the Americans. So each side is represented by someone else. This could suggest that this war may soon open up to support from other countries besides those currently involved, particularly that the insurgency is itself a proxy entity or some kind, financed and supplied by someone else.

The two planets form an imminent occultation. Jupiter is about to be occulted, so this event is about to have some big results. Presumably, we could be looking at something of a more global scale, something far larger than even Iraq -- and most likely, something within five weeks. In fact, the chart yields the date of Jan. 13, 2005, early in the morning, a week before the inauguration.

In this chart, what has literally happened is that an American was shot. But in reality there is a lot of loss on all sides -- even for the 'winner'. But clearly it looks worse for the loser -- Saturn.

To get a second viewpoint, I called up David Roell at the Astrology Center of America bookstore a moment ago (who's now been teaching me astrology for exactly 10 years! Thank you Dave!), and promised him an interesting chart if he would cast it. Which of course he did. I did not say what the chart was for; he put it on his screen, and the first words out of his mouth, in about three seconds, were, "Is this someone who's eaten a poison apple? Someone who has poisoned themselves to death?"

What an interesting way to describe the loss of the 1,000th American soldier killed in action, and the rather unfortunate position of the American government.

The best thing we can say about this chart is how brutally honest it is about the difficulty and danger of the situation. It often takes people a long time to recognize the futility of a bad scene, and hope springs eternal. But we do have the image of a no-win scenario -- yet one that is about to change, perhaps significantly for the worse. Generally when really bad situations change, that's the most probable direction; and they fall apart until there's nothing left. We are certainly flirting with that potential in Iraq, and what happens in Iraq involves the entire Middle East, principally Israel. The current people in power seem to really enjoy war, and have a lot of resources to devote to war. What's to stop them from going all out? Hopefully something.

The question is, how do we resolve the chart? What are the different possible endings? And what is that "other way of looking at things," ever important in the healing process?

There are a few, and I have some ideas.

This chart has two imminent events. One is the Moon-Jupiter occultation we talked about. This feels less like resolve and more like a deeper loss. And -- because the Moon will have just trined Neptune -- we're looking at this through the haze of more deception. Remember that this occultation is knocking around the Sept. 11 chart like nothing else before it.

It's an 8th house event, however, and I smell sex, or ideas about sex. I'm reading a lot these days about how all open discussion of sex is basically being banned. The film "Kinsey" has been made into a point of controversy 60 years after Kinsey's first book came out. Networks are banning ads that remotely allude to sex. The United Church of Christ has been banned from the airways for suggesting that gays and lesbians are welcome. The 8th house is another way of saying we're having a global orgasm crisis, and are going frantic as a result.

Let's go back to Wilhelm Reich's ideas about how repressing orgasm causes neurosis and war, and that opening up that energy helps people relax and feel themselves again. Hmm, wouldn't that be a nice way to handle this situation? The aspect's presence in Libra is a way of saying that our relationships are a point of focus, and Venus-Mars in Scorpio in the 9th looks to me like a nice astrological symbol for what some call sacred sexuality, or erotic practice that invites the 'higher self' into the equation. That is, erotic play that is about deep and soulful sharing. You know, the kind we all want?

I guess I'm saying, "Make love, not war." Hey, you read it here first!

The second event is that Mercury is about to retrograde into Pluto, up in that 10th house. There can be no doubt: something is brewing with this one too. That something comes out to July 19, 2005, the projected date that I work out with the Mercury-Pluto conjunction. This appears to be something on a global scale, because of the direct involvement of Mercury, Pluto and Sagittarius, and the involvement of the 10th house.

But it also involves the people and governments getting in contact with their seemingly rather elusive souls. We are hearing a lot of talk about God this and The Lord that and being Saved the other thing, all while the fighter planes make their sorties. What about a little of the real thing, you know, God is Love? What about living from the soul, in our actual lives? How about serving up a little Christian charity, and stopping the bombs? If that Mercury-Pluto-Sagittarius scenario in the chart were in a natal chart, I could see that situation leading to a discussion with a rather deep person with some excellent, spiritually grounded ideas about how to run a government, run the world, or be in the community.

A third possibility involves looking at the chart when the ascendant changes to Pisces. I extend this out just under two years, late 2006. By this time, what is happening in Iraq will be called civil war -- Virgo on the new 7th will be ruled by Mercury. Self-destruct mode, that is, with a lot of help from the Rapture people in Washington DC and Jerusalem.

The ascendant also represents America and Americans (often symbolized by Aquarius), at the end of a cycle, who will indeed, in truth and in reality change in the process of these international events. Uranus in Pisces is about to become the rising planet. Uranus is about revolutions, inventions and surprises. It's also about groups, and technology. In Pisces, it's about art, entertainment and media, which are group endeavors. Much else in the planets signifies transformation around this theme of group consciousness in the next couple of years, starting in late winter. There's a revolution coming, there is a big change on the horizon, and many other charts point to this (like the inauguration chart).

What we need in this country is a revolution of the willing.

I'll end with this, as inelegantly as I possibly can. I predict that help will come from the unlikeliest of places: the Republicans. The real ones, that is. In fact, help comes from all kinds of strange people, places and things, but when the Pubs in congress start speaking up, speaking out and demanding changes, we know the guys in white hats have arrived.

PS, the Electoral College meets Monday. We should really pay attention to that thing, you know.

Planet Waves for Dec. 10. 2004 (#536)

Happy Birthday, Sagittarius!

Now is the time to assess your personal goals in light of your highest mission on Earth. Do the two come into alignment? You know you have come to this planet with some vitally important work to do. Yet you have a complicated agenda that often goes off in many directions. While this is usually healthy for a Sagittarian, you are at a point where you need to being your life into focus and define your spiritual necessities in ways that have actual meaning in your day-to-day affairs.

It is always possible to put this off for the future, and that's what usually happens. Yet what are you waiting for? This is no ordinary moment in world history, or in the history of your life. If you are hearing your calling, it's high time that you answer.

The theme of alchemy -- a curiously Sagittarian item -- appears in your birthday charts this year. Alchemy is a branch of old science involved with the the mystical power of substances, the relationship between the physical and energetic worlds, and the search for the truth based on an exploration of the material world. In practical modern terms, it is the art of living, and living the path of Art.

In your life, I see alchemy working in the way that you and your partners and associates influence one another, more profoundly than you can imagine. There is an inter-reaction of change between you and the people closest to you that is reaching you more deeply than anything has in a long time. It must feel quite mysterious to live through this, as you are surprising yourself every day both with who you become, and how people respond to you.

You will be surprised how easy it is for experiences to find their way from your dreams into your reality. Given this, I suggest you open up that dream space and let the good times flow. However, if you're a woman or find yourself associating with them, you'll need to take a particularly gentle approach to making your fantasies come true. Quite potentially, the female species in its entirety is in some shock right now, having recently passed through the filters of several intense transformations that have left everyone feeling pretty vulnerable. Though these events seem entirely necessary, and designed to initiate you into a new phase of your existence, please tread lightly.

If you remember, this should be pretty easy. Remember that you're viewed as a community benefactor; a safe haven. If you take up that role, you're not acting. You are only doing what, in truth, you have spent many years preparing for, going through changes that only you understand, but which have taught you to understand the changes of other people with a depth and clarity that is truly helpful to everyone.

One way to respond to the many surprising changes in your home is to extend the idea of your family. Open up your doors, and let your home become something of a community center. Whether you stand in the center of the circle or on the edge, your presence is what is bonding the experience together. And though others around you are strong and wise, the changes you are now going through, and the inner vision you have been granted, are creating reactions of transformation and enlightenment in the hearts and souls of those who love you, and those who discover you.

Aries (March 20-April 19)
There must be some extraordinary sexual vibes moving through your life, and your body, now. But Westerners almost always wrap anxiety and guilt around their experiences of pleasure and pleasure seeking, so when the snake does its spiral dance and rises from its silent coil, we often have to deal with excess negative emotion. To the extent that this is true for you, confront it. The rewards will exceed the effort. Yet there's been no time in recent memory when erotic passion was more free to be itself, with no need to qualify the definition of love, or seek approval from anyone but you and your beloved.

Taurus (April 19-May 20)
Our ideas about relationships typically include the notion that we seek them to complete ourselves, or that in joining with another we sacrifice a part of who we are. Yet I suggest you focus on the actual experience of exchange that's happening in your life at the moment. You've ventured into some extraordinary new territory, but you haven't gone astray. While the feelings and changes you're experiencing seem to elude clear expression in words, it may be worth the effort of leaving yourself a few notes from this rare moment of beginning that -- given how fast the world turns -- may soon be forgotten.

Gemini (May 20-June 21)
It may get annoying after a while to think of everything that happens in life as part of a healing journey. Yet given many of the other possible reality frameworks through which we can view our lives, healing is not such a bad one, particularly given how much we tend to suffer from repeated injury. Thing is, healing does not need to smell like alcohol in a doctor's office, nor does introspection need to feel like laying on a psychiatrist's couch. The intensity and adventure of the moment are reaching you like medicine on a deep level, and the experiences you're encountering offer a viable option to struggle.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
In the world of critters, Cancer the Crab lives deep at the bottom of the ocean, far from the turbulence on the surface. The storms of recent weeks and months have likely called you to a deep place within yourself. But now, there are turning points in your relationships and in your inner life that are summoning you back to the world, to interact with people more intensely, and to live your life on the emotional rather than the spiritual level. Obviously, you sense the risks involved with this. But you decided a long time ago not to let life pass you by.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23)
To the fortunate few for whom creativity is their true spiritual path, these are extremely productive days. Each time you look at the world from a new point of view, it's as if you are reborn as a new person, and this can happen about 10 times a day. The thing about being reborn is that it's not an event that occurs once, like physical birth. It must happen repeatedly until it becomes a constant state of existence. At your peak of enlightened freedom, you will never see the world or the people in it the same way twice, and these very days offer a fine example of how that might feel.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22)
Relatives have a way of not just pushing our buttons, but also of enticing us to regress to the people they are more comfortable knowing and manipulating. If you find yourself bogged down in such a state, unable to defend yourself or even speak your mind, just remember to say, "Hmmm, this really sucks." Then add, "Wow, I wonder what it felt like to be a little kid in this very position." Then throw in, "But I'm not a kid. I'm a grownup with car keys in my pocket and an actual life of my own." Then wait 30 seconds for the remedy to take effect.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23)
People who deny the existence of conspiracy theories are the very people who allow the conspiracies to go on and on. I suggest you give up any simplistic notion that everything in the world is not connected to a plot, and begin looking for the connections now. What is unfolding in your life is not an accident, and if you want to deal yourself back into the game, you're going to need to know the rules, the players, and what they are trying to accomplish. If you want to indulge your ever-present interest in psychology, make a little map and notice the peculiar similarity to your childhood household.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
When a new era dawns, it is often alarmingly close to the old one. People like beginnings, and they are certainly exciting, but it takes pioneers and visionaries to weave the new story of the world. You are one of them, both for yourself and many around you. This may surprise you, because so many of your present concerns are fixated on the past, and correcting certain problems that have proven to be very stubborn and difficult to define -- but which are suddenly revealing their true nature. This is good news. If you seek a future different than the past, you need to truly understand what's come before.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22)
The deeply introspective nature of your solar chart suggests that you meet the world with silence that you not break until you're truly ready to speak. At this point, it would be most unwise to reveal to others the specifics of what you're discovering about yourself, and the radical ways in which your view of the world is changing. The process is not nearly complete, nor is it anything that others would be in a position to relate to easily. You are usually an extremely confident person, but this is not a time to take your confidence for granted.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20)
There's something that I'm noticing in the world that I'm beginning to call the "spiritual issue." I speak of an aspect of life that people either get or don't get; that they recognize or not. Ultimately, it's the recognition of their own purpose, and how that inter-relates to every other life on the planet. There is something about the existence of the soul, and its purpose, as defined from all the games the personality is made to play. There is something about the higher truth of this world. In the coming weeks, you may find yourself inclined to think of life in such terms, or similar ones. Don't worry -- it's normal, for you, anyway.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19)
If you've been lacking a certain quality of far-sightedness in your life, current aspects promise to lift you high above yourself, turn you around, and give you an entirely different perspective on the course of your life. I speak mainly of things that appear to be "outer world" kinds of matters: principally, a pressing career question, and second, something that pertains to your role in your community. It will turn out that your professional issue, contrary to the suggestions of your fears, will lead to more pleasure than responsibility; and that your community extends much further than even you imagined.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Not everyone can carry the weight of the world. This is true. But many people each have to carry a piece of it. While you may think you are being given more responsibility than you can reasonably handle, in truth you can handle a lot more. This will not be welcome news to every Pisces, as there are many of our tribe who would rather pretend the world is a certain way than actually take on the work of this time in history. Who is who? I can make it really simple. If you see the problems, then you are being called to be part of the solution. The first part is much more stressful than the second.
