Jonathan Cainer Daily Horoscope
for Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005

Since my earliest days studying astrology, eclipses got my undivided attention. If you think of the astrological system as a computer, eclipses are those moments when the divine disk drive writes new code to the magnetic surface of life. There is, at the same time, the possibility to erase certain ideas and influences for good. How do you do this? Around the time of an eclipse, work with your intentions, and express those intentions by choice and especially action.

ARIES (Mar 21 - Apr 20)
You're not usually the 'delayed response' type. Today is a good day to practise. Whatever develops today will seem to demand that you take immediate action, and someone may in fact push you to go against your judgment. The approach will be emotional, dramatic, and the chances are, deceptive. Will you see through the fog? Do you want to? You need to look and gain an understanding, and that's going to take a little time. This one small episode, rather than being something isolated, is part of a much larger pattern in your relationships that you are finally beginning to deal with - out of necessity, but for real.

TAURUS (Apr 21 - May 21)
Gradually, you're beginning to see another person's point of view. You may be gaining an understanding of why they, too, feel that their needs are not being met, and the odd way they feel like they're a prisoner of circumstance. What a conflict that arises today may show you, however, is the ways in which some of these perceptions are out of touch with reality. It's never possible to use the emotions to analyse perceptions, but it would be very healthy to sort out how everyone feels by letting them speak for themselves, then dealing with reality.

GEMINI (May 22 – Jun 22)
You've taken more than enough of a certain kind of risk. This has gone on to the point where it's basically no risk at all. To make it meaningful, you need to think in terms of the impact you can have on others, and the extent to which you can reach out to a community. In other words, creativity is not the issue; sharing your creativity is. In a peculiar way, however, this situation seems to be tied up in your ideas about romance. But, consider this: there is nothing romantic about actually expressing yourself. It is an entirely practical matter.

CANCER (Jun 23 - Jul 23)
When I was a kid, I knew a businessman named Barry, and he used to say: 'Don't sweat the small stuff. And remember, it's all small stuff.' Well, these days, it's mostly small stuff, and it does add up to a lot. Today, however, you need to sort out what is small from what is large; what is meaningful from what is not. The opinions, intensity and potential stubbornness of others, matters not; what matters is that you keep steady, and respond to things in a realistic way. Keep your sense of scale. Remember, your emotions may exaggerate your perceptions - so look and feel twice.

LEO (Jul 24 - Aug 23)
Don't expect everyone to agree with you today, but you don't need to go out of your way to emphasise the point. It would be better if you kept your opinions to yourself for a while, and let them develop. What occurs to you today is going to seem like a revelation, but it's only the beginning of the process of figuring out what you're really thinking. If anyone says anything particularly outrageous, I suggest you don’t respond but rather see the effect it has on your thinking. All in all, you're on to something big - but you have to go deeper to find it.

VIRGO (Aug 24 - Sep 23)
For whatever reason, it seems that more Virgos (and their cousins, Pisces) suffer from battles with self-worth than any other sign. The problem with fighting yourself is that it doesn't leave you enough energy to meet the world face to face, so you can do what you need to do. You've finally become aware of this situation, and the first effects may have been to feel overwhelmed. Now you're getting smart, and you're making decisions. It's time to decide that just because you were wrong about yourself in the past doesn't mean you can't get it right today.

LIBRA (Sep 24 - Oct 23)
It's difficult to imagine a more profound phase of self-reassessment than your ruling planet Venus making its way through Scorpio - but Monday's eclipse in your birth sign definitely counts for more. You seem to be faced with the choice to take the long way around, analysing every detail and psychological implication of your life, or to take the quantum approach and make the change you are seeking as one wholesale leap to a new level of awareness. Or perhaps it would better to put it this way: the quantum leap is actually happening, so don't waste your time psychologising.

SCORPIO (Oct 24 - Nov 22)
If you're involved in a power struggle, you might want to ask yourself how it would feel different if you actually felt free. By free, I mean free to come and go, free to make decisions that suit you without worrying about what the rest of the world may feel, and free to respond to your actual emotional state. I am not saying you really are free in these ways now, but I'm proposing considering the situation as if you were. Once you do that, you'll have a lot more realistic idea about what is keeping you tied up, and what it will take to disentangle yourself.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov 23 - Dec 21)
You are on a run of unusually good luck, and you may be wondering how long it's going to hold up, given the condition of the world and the wild state of the cosmos. But if you're wondering, I suggest you not bother and rather keep doing what needs to be done, particularly involving a particular friend who is depending on you now. The interchange has a dramatic sense about it; something is reaching a peak; your generosity will be more than rewarded, which I am sure is of little consequence to you. The world needs more of your example.

CAPRICORN (Dec 22 - Jan 20)
The kind of resistance you are facing is the sort that's not easy to perceive. But there are moments when you can sense it more clearly than others, and today is one of them. To really understand the mindset of someone who may be presenting a challenge, you need to apply a different kind of logic than you're normally accustomed to. It is always a bit challenging wading through someone else's self-deception, but that's where you need to begin sorting things out. Once you get to the bottom of things, explaining yourself will be a different kind of challenge, but you're up to it.

AQUARIUS (Jan 21 - Feb 19)
Small gestures of faith mean a lot now, and can open the way to great things. You're becoming aware of something that's reaching its natural limits. No, it may not be at the limit, but that intuitive sense that it cannot go on much longer is starting to dawn on you, if only as a lingering emotional discomfort. You may not see a way out - but I assure you that there is. Like most things in your life, the solution will come to you as a unique idea, this time, in the form of an inspiration. It may defy something you believe, which is exactly the point.

PISCES (Feb 20 - Mar 20)
Water is nothing if not flexible. Put up a barrier, and water will go around it. Try to keep it out, and it will get in. Because as a Pisces you live in a world of water, you need to play certain tricks on yourself to stay dry, and to keep a step above your emotions. This has caused you to block out certain thoughts or perceptions that would actually serve you well to notice now. But because water always finds a way, you cannot escape a particular revelation - and what you learn next will more than compensate for so much that you feared you would never find out.
