Pisces Birthdays: Making Room for Yourself
YOUR SOLAR year begins with an eclipse in your opposite sign Virgo. While this alone is not particularly unusual (it will happen a few times in a cluster every nine years or so and the Virgo Full Moon is annual), it is one of several astrological factors saying the same thing. One sure way to know the astrology is talking is that no matter how you look at it, you get a similar version of the same message.
On one level, it looks like you're entering new territory where your relationships are concerned. Given the duration things can stay the same for a Pisces, and how well you endure for how long, this is probably good news. The recent Full Moon and subtle eclipse in Virgo has done more than put your nerves through the toaster. It has reminded you that enough is enough; and too much is too much; perhaps pointing out directly that you feel emotionally cramped or at the very least that you need to change the water and clean the filters in your psychic aquarium.
Anyway, it's not exactly your relationships that are changing and evolving, despite the appearances: it is you personally. Imagine that corresponding to every external relationship there are these receptors inside you that mediate the process. By many different accounts, these are what is changing. Some things that used to be possible no longer are. Some things that forever seemed impossible are now well within direct reach.
And you are earning these changes as you go. As you are well aware, this is not a free ride but rather more like a journey of a thousand miles of which you will personally be taking each step.
I recognize that it's not necessarily a comfortable process. You are having, as part of this, to make decisions about what and what does not fit in your life. That, in turn, involves making, breaking or at least rearranging commitments -- probably all three. And that requires clarity.
Whereas Pisces can typically abide whatever it needs to for as long as it needs to, it would seem that now is a time for precision. It's a time for setting limits and working, and exploring within them. This is an entirely contrary way of being than is typical of your sign, which tends to operate without boundaries and then get hemmed in as a result. I think that the point is clear, if you want room for your life within your life, make clear agreements, and hold people to them. If the time comes to change them, then negotiate that.
Marking off certain psychic and emotional territory, as well as certain specific needs, as uniquely your own, will give you more room to exist within your own life. This is so often the issue for Pisces. As it turns out, there is a specific way you want people to fit into your world. There are specific ideas you have about the way that is going to work. Maybe they are right, maybe not -- but you have the right to test them out. Most vital among them is that you have the right, privilege and freedom to change within your relationships.
I will spare you a long tirade on this subject and provide a succinct one. While I do not pretend to speak for everyone, I wish to address a kind of long-term and widespread trend, which is that within many relationships, the 'ship' of 'relating' does not allow space for one or both partners to actually change, develop or grow. Such would be threatening; or it's too much work. In this case one of several things typically happens: the changes are kept secret; growth is suppressed; or the relationship shuts down or breaks down.
Often this can be addressed by communicating, and by communicating needs in particular. As the person with Pluto squaring your Sun, this is your gig.
This is a major life transit that currently affects all Pisces born between March 14 and March 20 of any year -- and it is an understement to say that your entire life is currently about fundamental level change. This exists on many other levels, but looking at the Sun and Pluto, we can say at minimum that finding your mission from the soul level outward is developing. Pluto pushes us from our very depths; the Sun represents our expression in the world.
Mission does not just cover what you do; it is about who you are.
Gradually, this transit will push you out of your shell, and help you find a voice. But remember that Pluto is the unstoppable force, and the Sun is how you share your glory in the world. This is why nobody can stop you and anyone who is in your life needs to stand aside and let whatever happens happen -- or basically be left out entirely. This is kind of a test of the veracity and truth of relationships.
But unfortunately, you cannot simply expect this to happen. You need to he clear about what you want and what your parameters are. You start the process; you are the prime mover.
To say that relationships need to have a place at the core of your life is an understatement. It would seem that, rather than needing people to keep their distance, what you cannot brook is superficiality.
Along these lines, while emotional depth is vital to your happiness in any relationship, struggle can no longer serve as a substitute. Yet something else perhaps more difficult to find is vital as well -- a level of intuitive understanding. With so much developing in the sign Aquarius, your 12th solar house, there is much in your life that defies words.
In truth, the ineffable level is the most important one in your intimate contacts, and where you need the most room to develop, grow and squirm is the deeper emotional level, where your inner workings-out may not be conducive to much productive discussion any time soon.
It would be a triumph for you to learn to state your needs in plain language, to make a habit of clearing space for yourself and holding that space open, and allowing yourself the privilege of being a different person every day. This may go on for a while, till you discover just what you want and just what you are feeling, and then decide what to do about it.
That's what you could call a sea change, and all those landlubbers need to stand back while let the surf, the wind and the tides do their thing.

For late Pisces, this recent article about the "square" dynamic involving Pluto will be helpful. You are not necessarily going through your Pluto square, but the energy is similar. To some real extent, this applies to those born any year in the last week of Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius as well.
